HISTORY OF MCA DEPARTMENT

      Master of Computer Applications(MCA) was started with the approval from AICTE, in the year 2000 with two staff members Mrs. M. Safish Mary and Mrs. Jeya A. Celin. In the year 2001, it started functioning as a separate department as per the AICTE recommendations. Mrs. M. Safish Mary was appointed the Head of the Department.

A separate Department Library with references in almost all the recent developments has been established for M.C.A. students. A well equipped LAB with internet facility is also functioning especially for the M.C.A. students.

In the year 2003, the student strength was increased from 30 to 40 per class. The students are given special orientation towards communication skills, aptitude development and training in Spoken English.

At present the department is functioning with a full set of eight staff members. Every year in collaboration with the Computer Science department a Computer Fest X’PASO is organized which invites participants from other colleges.

Our Alumni are well placed in Software companies like IBM, Patni Software, HCL Infotech, ProtoWebetc.,
